Quack
If you’re wondering who the man behind the curtain is here at DuckDuckBlue, look no further: You’ve found Justin Ryan, Chief Quack.
So who is Justin Ryan?
That’s a very good question.
I’ve been involved with technology for as long as I can remember. I started in business as an offline consultant for small businesses, and eventually worked my way online. I’ve met a lot of interesting and awesome people, and slowly became a go-to web guy, especially for WordPress.
Do you do anything else?
I’m also a writer and editor — I’ve written on technology, finance, small business and start-ups, personal growth, men’s style, and quite a bit more for a number of sites. I’m a Contributing Editor for Linux Journal, a premier tech magazine, and spent three years as the News Editor.
And after work?
Between writing, editing, web supporting, and everything else, my plate is pretty full, but I do take a break from time to time. When I do, I like to swim, socialise, and shoe shop. I collect rubber ducks and penguins, and enjoy a good gin and tonic. I’m also a serious skate geek.
Why DuckDuckBlue?
I like ducks, and my favourite colour is blue.
Okay, why Chief Quack?
If there’s anything I’m not, it’s the President and CEO. I like to be in the thick of things, solving my client’s problems. As Chief Quack, I’m the lead problem solver, head geek, senior customer service rep, and overall guy who gets stuff done.
I think the job requires being just a little bit nuts, so “quack” seems particularly appropriate.
